Some more Chapter 2 progress and the voice acting question

So, it's been a while since the last update. This is mainly because I've been taken away into an RP hole - I love to roleplay, and I... might have overdone it being in 3 RPs every week, plus having had additional bonus sessions with other players' characters on almost all the other days of the week... for several months. Now I suffer from RP fatigue and have decided to slowly step away from it all for a while (finally), so maybe I can finally focus more on Millie Amaryllis again.

That said, I had made some more progress before the RP hole took me away, which I had already shared on my Bluesky, so if you follow me there, you may have already seen most of this. If you don't though, enjoy what I can show you today! (And also follow my Bluesky if you want)

First off, here's what the inside of Archambeau Bakery looks like:

This is the main storefront area, anyway. The door in the back leads upstairs to the Archambeau's living space, where Briar and her parents actually live. I have yet to draw those areas.

Speaking of Briar's parents, they already have sprites! Look at them!

Tall queen mom and short king dad. Briar's mom is also a bit quirky in that I may have taken a bit of inspiration from Gundham Tanaka from Danganronpa 2 for her personality, so look forward to that.

Finally, I'd like a few opinions on something I've been thinking over for a bit.
I was considering voice acting for this game, honestly since I started working on it. Thing is though, I don't really want to invest in voice actors while the game is still this early in production. I figured I'd start looking for VA's maybe towards Chapter 5 or 6, since at that point the game would be far enough that it wouldn't be much longer until it'd be completed, so there'd be less issues with VA's not returning due to the long production time. (Mind you, I also wish to pay some decently proper VA's where I can, not that I'll shoot very high with that because I'm not THAT rich, but maybe I'll pick some peeps off of fiverr or something)
HOWEVER, recently I was faced with the fact that some people can't really read for a long time, due to various reasons and circumstances, so I was considering adding voice acting prematurely, but with a catch.
I will still not go and actually get some voice actors who might actually do that as a job - it's definitely too early to invest in that - but I could do the voice acting myself for the time being (and offer other volunteers to join as well if they so wish), to be replaced at a later point with people who can do a more proper job. This will probably make the voice acting sound more amateurish and/or parody-ish in a few places, since, while I do have a bit of a range, it's not THAT big of a range that I could realistically voice every character, and while volunteers are still an option to help out here too, I won't hold my breath on how that would go, if at all... but at least there'd be SOME voice acting for those who want a break from reading.
Mind you, this voice acting would still be partial though, as was actually always planned. Really only some cutscenes and a decent amount of interrogations/discussions would be voiced, with investigations and more casual scenes mostly just getting some catch-all basic voice lines to accompany the mood of what is being said. Kind of like how Danganronpa does it.
The question is though: Should I go ahead with that plan of premature voice acting, or should I just keep holding off until the game is further in development, like I had originally planned?
I'd like to hear some opinions on this, so feel free to drop in your hat with your opinions and arguments on this. I'd like to gauge what people would prefer here.

Thank you for listening, and until next time!
